At this point, you've probably read posts from us regarding the partnership Toyota has with German automaker, BMW. For some, it's still not exactly clear what the arrangement means for Salt Lake City and Clearfield area drivers, and what could come out of it, that's why today on the Tony Divino Toyota blog, we'd like to outline some of the details.

First, there's the joint platform architecture to make a new sports car. We know a sportier model would bolster the new Toyota lineup, as everyone loves an added bit of performance. Right now, there aren't many details, but many speculate a Supra-like model being in the works, and that it will be quite different from BMW's creation.

There's also efforts being made to develop lightweight technologies with new materials like reinforced composites. These processes can be applied to many vehicles, including the Camry and Avalon.

Toyota will also look to utilize BMW's prowess with diesel, as it aims to make more headway in Europe, while the Bavarians will benefit from Toyota being a leader in hybrids, as the two will pair up to make lithium-ion batteries that take it to the next level.

Finally, fuel cell technology is a hot issue in the auto world today, and both automakers are striving to build a fuel-cell vehicle system, including a hydrogen tank, motor, and battery, with 2020 as the date they'd like it complete.

It is a lot of goals to achieve, but we're confident Toyota and BMW can do it. It will only benefit the models you can find here in our Riverdale, UT showroom. To learn more, make the short trip in from the greater Salt Lake City and Clearfield area and see us today.
