Every year, Toyota makes a substantial donation to a non-profit group called "Racing for Kids" in the form of a fun race between professional drivers and casual celebrities. Aptly named the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, a total of $5,000 is donated to "Racing for Kids" on behalf of each participant. Meanwhile, the winner is given an additional $5,000 to donate to the charity of their choice.

As you can imagine, this greatly raises the stakes, and it could definitely be felt at this year's race. "The pace of this race was extremely fast and competitive," said Les Unger, national motorsports manager with Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. "There was some exciting action in the field that had the fans out of their seats."1

All of that energy propelled Top Gear USA host Rutledge Wood to the big win. He drove his Scion FR-S racer with the kind of precision you'd expect to see from such an avid car lover. And though he's known for his role on Top Gear USA - one that require significant driving skill - he was still listed under the "celebrity" category.

The winner of the "pro" segment? That would be none other than last year's overall winner: Adam Carolla.

But back to Rutledge Wood: as we mentioned at the beginning of this post, an additional $5,000 is given to the charity of the winner's choice. Wood's charity of choice is Victory Junction, a camp that supports children with severe illnesses and chronic medical conditions.

Tony Divino Toyota, located at 777 West Riverdale Rd. Riverdale, UT 84405 congratulates Wood, and is already looking forward to next year's race. If you are as well, be sure to stay tuned, as our new Toyota team is committed to keeping you informed.
