The 2019 Toyota Prius AWD

A Hybrid Hatchback to Bring Ogden into the Future: the 2019 Toyota Prius AWD-e

While some automobile companies aim for a different future of faster, sleeker, or even self-driving cars, we here at Tony Divino Toyota believe that fuel efficiency is key in the future of automobiles. More and more people seek a commuter-friendly daily driver for the road ahead with more fuel savings in their pocket and a decreased impact on our Earth where emissions are concerned. We here at our Riverdale, UT dealership are proud to announce that Toyota will soon release that type of hybrid hatchback for the future in the 2019 Toyota Prius with available all-wheel drive electric (AWD-e) system. With its hybrid energy powertrain and wide range of enhanced technology, this version of the Toyota Prius aims to drive you into the future with a hybrid hatchback that you can take pride in calling your own. Let us show you all that this brand-new Prius model can do for you, so you can decide if one is right for you when this hatchback hits the Utah streets next year.

The 2019 Toyota Prius will come available in four different trim levels:

  • L Eco
  • LE
  • XLE
  • Limited

Out of those trim levels, the LE and XLE trim levels will come available with the AWD-e system.

Efficiency and Traction in One Hatchback

While much of the technology of the 2019 Prius is innovative, its hybrid powertrain remains consistent with previous models. Each model features the Hybrid Synergy Drive, combining a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with two AC Synchronous Permanent Magnet electric motors. This energy system is paired with the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) along with an Electronically Controlled Braking System to optimize the control you have over the vehicle when making slow or sudden stops. The powertrain system of the 2019 Prius, combined with its available AED-e system, allow it to travel up to an EPA-estimated

The advancements of the 2019Prius begin at the AWD-e system, which is brand-new to the Toyota Prius lineup and monitors traction under the hybrid hatchback through the use of electronic sensors rather than torque-apportioning devices you might find on other AWD systems, which can be faulty at times. The AWD-e system uses a magnet-less motor in the rear of the vehicle to deliver power to the rear wheels in order to help increase traction to the vehicle as a whole, which helps more over its front-wheel drive counterpart when the vehicle is stuck in a snowbank or ice patch. However, while power optimization to the rear wheels is essential, the system automatically minimizes it when it is not needed on a clear-day drive and smooth roads in Ogden.

Technology for Everyone's Benefit!

As with many new and upcoming Toyota models, the 2019 Toyota Prius will feature the Toyota Safety Sense™ (TSS-P) safety suite on all trim levels. TSS-P™ utilizes a special sensor and camera system and broadcasts a wide range of driver-assistive application to you from right behind the wheel as you take on the daily commute. These applications include:

  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/ PD)
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/ SA)
  • Automatic High Beams (AHB)
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
  • Vehicle Proximity Notification System (VPNS)

This new hybrid hatchback will also feature the Entune Multimedia Bundle, which includes AM/FM radio, a CD player, six speakers, Bluetooth®, Siri Eyes Free™, and an integrated backup camera display.
